    Flood 2020

A series of images made while walking around the village of Alfriston in East Sussex during the first week of March 2020.

Relentless torrential rain had burst the banks of the River Cuckmere that meanders past the village on the way to its mouth on the shingle beach at Cuckmere Haven. The river spread and sprawled across farmland and roads, creating an enourmous lake that lapped and slapped at the village for a week before it slowly receded.

You can cry, drinkin' your eyes

Do you miss the sadness when it's gone?

And you let the river run wild

And you let the river run wild
